My favorite author of all times is Haruki Murakami. I highly recommend all his books. If you have never read a Murakami novel, start with South of the Border, West of the Sun, probably his most accessible novel. If you feel ready for some of his crazier — but most amazing and worthwhile — works, I suggest The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle or Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World.
